FAQS

WILL YOU ASK ME TO LET MY BABY "CRY IT OUT"?

Not at all! I do not advocate for cry it out. I will teach you gentle sleep training techniques with a supportive approach where you will be able to reassure your child while they are learning independent sleep skills

WILL SLEEP TRAINING DAMAGE MY BOND WITH MY CHILD?

Bonding with your baby is an ongoing process that happens overtime. It is the love and affection you provide to your baby on a daily basis. Helping your child learn and maintain healthy sleep habits in a loving way is just one way to encourage a deep bond. My gentle sleep techniques include a bedtime routine that encourages parents to snuggle their babies before bed and respond to their needs as they arise

HOW LONG DOES SLEEP TRAINING USUALLY TAKE?

2 weeks is considered the critical window for teaching and "solidifying" independent sleep. However, in my experience, the skill of falling asleep independently is learned very quickly and you can see results after 3 nights of sleep training. Getting your child's naps to the length that they "should" be for their age is what can take a couple of weeks, sometimes even longer.

MY CHILD STILL NEEDS NIGHT FEEDS, CAN WE STILL SLEEP TRAIN?

At my initial consultation, I will ask you to speak to your pediatrician about how many feeds your baby needs. We will pay attention to behavior around night feeds to know which ones are necessary and which ones are habitual and only needed to fall back asleep. So yes, If your baby needs their night feeds, they can still be sleep trained.

MY CHILD AND I SHARE A ROOM. IS IT STILL POSSIBLE TO TEACH THEM HEALTHY SLEEP HABITS?

Absolutely! As long as your child has their own sleep space/surface we can definitely still teach them independent and healthy sleep habits.

I HAVE HEARD OF SLEEP TRAINING BABIES, BUT ARE YOU ABLE TO WORK WITH CHILDREN?

Yes! My services are offered for children up to the age of 3.
